I’m currently reading a book entitled “Start Late, Finish Rich” by David Bach author of bestselling book “Automatic Millionaire”. I actually mentioned this book in my book review of “Ang Pera na Hindi Bitin”.
I bought the book at a local bargain store for only $2. When I saw it I didn’t hesitate to buy it though it’s Canadian Edition. It’s a very good deal!
But I will not give my book review here since I’m not yet done reading it. I just want to share the first activity that I did as recommended in the first chapter of the book – letting go “if only’s”.
As mentioned by the author, if you want to get over something you regret, the fastest way to do is to acknowledge the regret – and then let it go.
The activity is to write as many of your personal “if only’s” as you can think in a sheet of paper, then burn it up. Since I’m not allowed to burn in our flat, I shredded my list into tiny pieces and throw it in a garbage can instead.
Here’s my list before I shred it….
“The past will continue to be your future if you drag it along with you”
I do have regrets in life; and I’m living with it for the past several years and it’s making me hard to move on. The more I think of my regrets the more I look for ways to cover it making me more upset and my life’s seems to turn into one direction repeatedly.
After doing the activity, I feel at ease and relieve from any regrets. Though sometimes my regrets keep coming on my mind, but I am reminded that I already did let go it and its part of my past. Now I can easily move forward.
