I have mentioned many times that I am frugal and always ask myself if the thing I’m gonna buy is a necessity or not. But sometime (yeah, very rare case!), I get crazy too when I purchase thing. Just recently I bought an Ecotools Six Piece Starter Set. Do I need it? Definitely not since I don’t apply make-up often… or I mean I only apply powder and lipstick. Thus, I don’t need the whole set actually.
But then I was thinking why not invest in good brushes since I am honestly tempted to at least give my face an “Umfff!” after watching several make-up tutorials in Youtube. I don’t wanna be a “plain Jane” forever. I just need to enhance my face but not overdo with make-up – a prettier “plain Jane” perhaps.
Besides, sissy is into make-up so she can use the set even if I’m not using it. Definitely not a waste of money!
Here’s my review of the brushes, although in this review I won’t give a comparison to other brand of brushes since this is my first set of brushes. Instead I’ll compare it to brushes that come with the powders I bought.
The Ecotool Six Piece Starter Set consists of blush brush, eye shading brushes, angled eyeliner brush, lash and brow groomer. It comes with convenient dual-pocket cosmetic brush. It’s actually the bag that convinced me to buy it. Haha… no actually the whole set!
I love how the blush brush feels in my skin as I put the powder in my face. Although it says for blush-on it can be use for powder, bronzer and/or blush-on. It is so soft and delicate as it touches my skin. It won’t give me a prickly feeling unlike the free brushes that comes with the powder. Using brushes is better than sponge since it evenly distributed the powder in your face. Among other brushes from the set, this is the most used brush I have.
There are two eye shading brushes in the set. But I occasionally use it since I don’t wear eye shadow. I use the other eye shading brush to distribute the eye concealer and that’s what I love about using it because I can easily apply the concealer evenly.
I apply eye shadow one time using the brushes and it`s definitely way better than using the sponge-tip eye shadow applier (I know that kind of thing is ancient!). The bristles are soft and it’s easier to blend colors.
The angled eyeliner brush: I have used it once. Just for trial. I find it so easy to apply the eye liner using this brush than applying pencil eyeliner directly to the lids.
Then the lash and brow groomer: I don’t know that the other one is for lashes until I wrote this post. Haha… I thought both are for eyebrows. Anyway, I love using the brow groomer because it defines my brows and I can easily see hairs that need to be plucked.
I don`t regret buying the whole set. I just found out it`s my beauty necessity!
